Who are Are?

Courage Reins is a non-profit therapeutic riding center in Highland Utah. We use mostly volunteers to help as many people as possible in our community.

Our mission:

  • improve the quality of life for people with disabilities
  • provide a safe, fun and challenging setting for physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth.

What do we do?

We provide therapeutic riding to students with:

  • cerebral palsy
  • traumatic brain injury
  • spina bifida
  • autism
  • Down syndrome
  • learning disabilities
  • many other disabilities

Why horses?

Riding horses develops a skill. Students can:

  • share their talent with family and friends)
  • enjoy the learning process
  • build confidence
  • improve concentration and attention span
  • develop memory and sequencing abilities
  • improve speech
  • gain social skills

Horses are living, breathing animals so students:

  • improve communication skills
  • gain increased compassion and responsibility.

Riding is dynamic. The way a horse moves:

  • improves posture and balance
  • improves special orientation and body awareness
  • increases circulation
  • relaxes tight muscles
  • stimulates natural hip movement
  • tones and strengthens muscles
  • improves coordination
  • improves fine and gross motor skills

You Can Bring a Smile to the Face of A Child

We pick up where other services leave off. Many of our students have serious, life-long disabilities and may have exhausted available insurance coverage for occupational and therapeutic services. They need an affordable way to continue important therapy.

You can a smile on the face of a child in need.

Remember: Your support is appreciated and your gift is tax-deducible.

I love the gentle horses. They seem to know they are doing something important.
